It didn't occur to me that I was over-weight until people started mentioning how "healthy(건강)" I looked. Funny how compliments makes you look at yourself more, only to discover the truth. So, don't try to be nice. I'd prefer if you just didn't talk about it. LOL~
Since the new semester started, I've been steadily losing my "freshmen fifteen," which I actually gained during my junior year(or at least that's what I like to say). I signed up for this jogging(core PE requirement) class, thinking that it would last only half a semester only to find that it lasts until mid-December. (Don't get me started how lazy I am to change it) Much to my surprise, it's been one of the best classes I've taken.
I tried losing some weight during the summer before going to Korea and I actually succeeded in losing a couple pounds. Weighting at 175-ish, I thought I was doing well. I have to give Amy credit. As chubby as I look, she usually doesn't mention how "healthy" I look. Anyways, the food in Korea was great and I tried to spoil Amy as much as I could, so we ended up eating out most of the time. When I came back from Korea, much to my horror, I found out that I gained well over 8 pounds, now weighting a hefty 183 pounds. Okay, that's not that much but it's definately over 15 pounds over the "normal."
Point is, since school started, I've started jogging 3~4 times a week for about 15~20 minutes and I've been lifting weights for about 2~3 times a week. I'm happy to report that I've lost the "freshmen fifteen" and I'm just below 170 lbs. I've managed to increase my strength and at lot more energetic than before.
The goal of the jogging class is that you be able to jog at least 30 minutes. We're jogging at 22 minutes and should be up-ing the time in a couple of weeks. My goal is to be able to keep up with Calvin (my bro) for about 30 minutes at a comfortable 8:30 minute pace. Hopefully, I'll be able to go rock climbing with him too.
I'm sure that weight lifting contributes to the weight loss, but I credit the running(aerobic exercise) that I've been doing. I actually hate running, but there's definately benefits. It's almost becoming addictive now to continue to exercise. I overheard Han tell Sang that the daily weight lifting was the only thing that he looked forwards to in the day. I wasn't sure what he meant but now I think I do.
So for all you people running and exercising, keep up it! I'm surprise how enjoyable it has become.
I'm really tempted to post "before and after" pictures but considering the people who stop by, I thought you probably wouldn't want to see it. Unless you say otherwise, I'll resist the temptation~ ;-p
